Model: M755LMR
Operating System: Windows 95 (Note: might work with other versions of this os.)
File: M755L_MR__ver_5.xx__020514s_.zip
Comments:
Unzip the file and you'll get the flash utility (aminf342.exe) and
the update (020514s.rom) file. Boot your system in the DOS mode (using a boot floppy), then put in another
floppy containing the flasher and the update file and enter aminf342 020514s.rom to flash the new BIOS.
ATTENTION! There is a BIOS tag incompatibility issue with this update. Just as you start the update by entering the above command, the program checks if the new BIOS tag coincides with the old one. You might get a warning that says the new tag is M755LMR while the old tag is M755LMRE. At this point, you can still exit the update without ruining anything. But in my experience that's not a real issue. (It's probably some lousy programming by the guys who wrote the update.) After you do the update, your motherboard will still read LMRE when you boot up. It is important, however, that you check 1) the motherboard type (should be M755L[MRE]) and 2) the motherboard version number (should be 5.xx). If these two are OK, you shouldn't have any problems.
But still: it's always a good idea to put your old BIOS and flasher on a floppy disk before flashing the new one.
